An interesting approach to a NY style pizza & Italian joint. As the high season approached, they stopped serving slices in the afternoons, unfortunately. I enjoy their gourmet slices, but it's not a complete experience if you can't just walk in and ask for a couple of pepperoni slices.

I really want to give them three stars. Since it's between three or four, I am going with the four. I came here during my lunch hour today. As I walked in, a woman greeted me and directed me to my seat. A few minutes after I sat down, a waitress came over to take my drink order. After looking over the menu, I decided to go with the baked ziti. I got the lunch special, which was reasonably priced. Before my meal came, the waitress gave me four large garlic rolls. They were super garlicky and delicious. Next up, my baked ziti came. It was very hot and just out of the over. I noticed it just seemed like it was ricotta, cheese on top melted and penne pasta. I was hoping for like more oregano or something to season it up. I felt like the ziti dish was a little bland. Since I was in a yolo-type moment, I carried on to order dessert. I decided on the tiramisu. The tiramisu was good. However, it tasted a little like it was just pulled out of the freezer. Overall, the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The was just okay.

Our office orders lunch from this Sal's quite a lot, and we're never disappointed. In fact, we're ordering from them again today! The people there are friendly, get your order straight every time, and our food arrives piping hot. Most importantly, the food is DELICIOUS. Some of the best Italian food in Boca. Highly recommend them.

On a business trip a group of us went to Sal's Italian Ristorante for lunch. Walked in the door and it smell like heavenly garlic. There were 6 of us and there was plenty of empty tables. The look was like any other Italian restaurant. Dark walls and dingy looking tables and Chianti bottles everywhere. The server greeted us immediately and brought us our drinks. She took our order and we didn't see her again for about 30 minutes. The brought out a basket of Garlic rolls and they were beyond delicious. They were medium sized rolls covered in butter and garlic. The six of us consumed them in just a few minutes, but then we had nothing else to eat for 30 minutes. They sell pizza by the slice and you can create your own with a list of the usual toppings. I chose one piece of cheese pizza with fresh garlic. The second piece was the "Pizza al Fresco" it was a thin crust slice with cheese, roasted red peppers, fresh basil and fresh garlic; the Fresco was my favorite. The price for 2 pieces of pizza was $7.50 which seems like a reasonable price especially in Boca Raton where everything is amazingly expensive. The pizza was delicious but the service was atrocious.

Sals is 2 miles from my house so I figured on a Monday night I could order delivery and it would be easy and quick. I ordered 2 large pies. That's it. After 45 minutes I called and checked on the delivery. I was told the driver did not get back yet. huh? Then he said he was on the way. Called 15 minutes later and was told driver was on the way. I asked if I should just cancel the order and said driver is 5 minutes away. Pizza showed up 1 hour and 20 minutes after I ordered. No apology, no discounts, and pizza was cold and crappy. Horrible. Way better options than this sad place.

We ordered two slices of pizza which were cold upon arriving and we paid for extra jumbo shrimp on our pasta, extra spinach and red sauce on the side but we never received them. We did call back and they offered to put it on our next meal which we did appreciate.

Ordered a pizza, went to pick it up, it was wrong, they grudgingly made me another. He pulled it out and showed it to me...like I can tell by looking at it if it is done or not......took it back to my hotel...it was NOT done......crust was not cooked completely......made for a very mediocre meal. Glad I do not live in So FL...seems like restaurants don't really care about the quality of the food or the service they provide. Guess there are so many people and most are tourist or seasonal, so businesses do not seem to care about repeat business. Been here all week and the best food I had was a sub sandwich at a deli. Just another rip off of my hard earned and saved vacation money. Feel cheated again.

I should have known better to order from Sal's again after my first experience (how can you mess up a sandwich?) but I wanted to give them another chance at redemption. Conveniently located by my office, I SO wanted them to be good! I doubt I'll ever order from them again. I ordered the chicken marsala and it was nothing special at all. Absolutely zero love in the chicken or the sauce. Chicken had about zero flavor and the marsala sauce tasted more like a canned gravy with a splash of something - not even wine. The mushrooms weren't even cooked down! Appearance wise, the meal was unappetizing. A total waste of $12. The positive is that their garlic rolls were decent so I had something to eat. Pretty sad that I can throw down a better chicken marsala and I'm not Italian.

My father ordered meatballs and spaghetti-just a few small meatballs with a big bowl of spaghetti. I tried to order the $20 veal parm but was rebuffed by no substitution policy. I wanted some veggies instead of spaghetti. Gave up and ordered ok sub. Just no reason to go back, there are so many better options.

Gotta love their lunch specials! For $5.99 I get a salad, eggplant parm sandwich, and slice of pizza. The best part is that it tastes good! Have had their veggie pasta dishes at dinner as well as their pizza, and I love the sauce they use on their pizza. Have only lived in the area for 5 weeks and have been there 4 times already.

3.5 We often go there for Lunch from work. Location is good but confusing parking and seldom get parking. They have decent italian items and Pizza Lunch Special on Mondays and Tuesdays. They also have lunch specials that are good too. Its nice and dark inside, some may call it intimate atmosphere. The chicken wings were decent, have definitely had better wings at Ale House that's nearby. Their cream of broccoli soup is amazing. Well made and appetizing. Their pizzas are good. Now, I don't keep my hopes too high but still their are pizzas are good. They make it there and sometimes take a bit longer than expected. Service has been good and quick. We are in and out quickly, only the time in between is long. They also serve Pizza by the slice. the pizzas are New York Style. Much better than pizza place that at the corner of Yamato and 2nd Ave. All in all, its 3 stars since we've not had bad experience in all this time we've been going there. Except the wait time for food can be a bit long. Here you get what you expect, its better than mediocre.

One star because Yelp wont let me leave it blank. Lunch may be good but dinner really sucked, was way over priced and the service was nonexistent. Our waiter spoke no English and understood even less making the dining experience not continental, just bad. They were out of everything but the more expensive items making sure we spent as much as possible before the terrible tasting of the foods. Refills and further service never came and I had to hunt down the waiter for the bill. Sal's in Delray is stellar comparatively and it would be wise to disassociate from the Boca store.

The best thing about this place is their lunch special! I have been here a few times for lunch because it is right across the street from my job. I usually get the same thing every time I go. It consist of a Choice of Soup or Salad- which I always choose salad with ranch dressing. One slice of cheese pizza and half a sub- I really like the ham and cheese sub because they add this special dressing that is delicious. Prices are very convenient you can get all the above for 5.99 plus tax. The food is not amazing but it is good for a quick bite to eat. During lunch it tends to get a little full but everyone works fast to get you your meal to you in a timely matter.

Service was fast and food was very good, I can definitely come back.

Mediocre chain Italian food - and that's the best thing I can say about it! Sauce from a jar (no flavor), overcooked pasta, and even the description of my eggplant was wrong- despite the menu, there was not a drop of ricotta on the dish. Moreover, the service was so bad it was painful; excruciatingly slow, despite being empty at lunch. Avoid at all costs.

Horrible service. It took almost 2 hours to get our food for a table of 6 with only 3 tables in the entire place. Avoid this place like the plague!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
